The Award in Carbon Awareness and the Impact of Climate Change provides learners with the knowledge and understanding to be able to make informed choices leading to positive actions which reduce their carbon footprint. How climate change affects everyone will give learners the confidence to motivate others to do the same. This leads to an understanding of the positive and negative effects of actions at individual and group level.

Award in Awareness of Social Media and Online Safety

The Award in Awareness of Social Media and Online Safety is designed to help learners understand the benefits and potential risks when using the internet and social media. They will learn how to safeguard themselves, and recognise that when something is wrong, and see it is dealt with efficiently and appropriately. It will also encourage learners to develop their understanding of technology and why it is important to stay safe online. 

Award in Internet Safety for IT Users

The Award in Internet Safety for IT Users qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of internet safety including understanding the risks associated with using the internet, safeguarding self and others when working online, maintaining data security and following guidelines and procedures.

Award in Understanding Employment, Business and Enterprise

The Award in Understanding Employment, Business and Enterprise qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of employment, business and enterprise. This qualification introduces the learner to the importance of entrepreneurial skills within business and encourages them to consider their own role in employment, business and enterprise.

Award in Managing Personal Finance

The aims of the qualification are to enable learners to understand the sources of income and expenditure, how to balance income and expenditure and reduce expenditure.  Understand some of the products provided by banks and building societies and other similar financial institutions and the advantages and disadvantages of borrowing money. Internet safety including understanding the risks associated with using the internet, safeguarding self and others.

Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life

The Award in Understanding Safeguarding for Work, Education and Life is designed to give learners knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in work, education and life contexts. This includes the different types of abuse and how to recognise them, possible safeguarding issues caused by modern technology, the meaning of discrimination and victimisation and the importance of disclosing safeguarding concerns to professionals.

Award in Understanding an Inclusive Environment

The  Award in Understanding an Inclusive Environment is designed to give learners an understanding of how the law protects the vulnerable in society to promote an inclusive environment and the benefits to society of an inclusive environment. They will learn that poor and abusive family relationships can marginalise individuals and that bullying and abuse have serious long-term impacts, for the victim and the abuser. 

Award in Equality and Diversity

The Award in Equality and Diversity introduces learners to the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and its importance in the workplace, learning environments and community settings. Learners will gain knowledge of current legislation that protects individuals based on their protected characteristics. They will explore discrimination and some of the key people and movements in history that have helped to establish the equality laws.

Award in Health and Safety

The  Award in Health and Safety qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of health and safety, hazards that can arise and some of the protection available against those hazards.

Award in Infection Control and Prevention

The Award in Infection Control and Prevention introduces learners to the principles of infection control and prevention in daily life. It considers the different causes of infection and how infection is spread. Learners will also be able to identify their responsibilities and that of others in controlling and preventing infection and gain a clear understanding of the importance of good personal hygiene.

Award in Food Safety in Catering

The Award in Food Safety in Catering qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding of the principles of keeping food safe. The qualification introduces the learner to key issues in Food Safety: taking responsibility for their own food safety and hygiene, keeping work areas clean and keeping food safe. The qualification can be used in an induction programme or integrated with a longer programme of study within a vocational area.
